Welcome to the construction site for the KnowSys project. The KnowSys Project is a self-help knowledge system using consensus building groupware to create a "Wisdom-Base" of information & methods for making the most of the human journey we are all on. The KnowSys vision is to use the new tools suddenly available to us here in cyberspace to help our species create a living, self-organizing gathering place for our collective self-knowledge. It is an attempt to gather, filter and present the best answers we as a species have to the questions we all ask during our lifetimes on this planet

The "Answer Machine" will make the large body of knowledge and wisdom that the KnowSys Project generates accessible to anyone through an easy to use interactive interface

The Knowledge Filter, a unique information filtering system, will select the most useful contributions for the Answer Machine response system by sorting its data in response to user feedback. As the Wisdom-Base grows we hope that it will integrate many perspectives on any given subject as well as opposing views and personal commentary submitted by other users. . As the query routing system employed by the Answer Machine interface becomes more sophisticated, the information generated will become more and more personalized. Ultimately, we envision the KnowSys Project as a kind of electronic "tribal Elder" for our new global village.

The Knowledge Filter

The Knowledge Filter is the posting mechanism whereby information, opinions and links to other resources on the web are submitted and edited for inclusion in the Wisdom-Base. The perspectives presented range from religion and philosophy to brain science, self-help technologies and psychology. The viewpoints will only be limited by what is offered by contributors and found useful or interesting by other users. The Knowledge Filter re-organizes itself in response to user feedback. The perspectives that the most people find useful automatically move toward the top of the "answers" hierarchy. Click here to see a simple flowchart of how information is filtered by this system.

The Wisdom-Base

The Wisdom-Base is the body of information selected by users to be most useful in addressing issues such as Understanding Human Nature, Formulas for Living, Secrets of Happiness, Developing our Human Potential, and Understanding the Great Mysteries of Existence. The selection process will select the most useful and accurate insights that we as a species have gained about ourselves through the ages. User generated links and comments provide alternate perspectives, explanations, supporting contributions and additional resources on each subject. The Wisdom-Base can be accessed by browsing topics or by asking specific questions using The Answer MAchine.

The Answer Machine

The Answer Machine is the user interface for the Knowsys Project. It uses a query routing system that interprets questions and directs users to the discussion forums or subject areas of the Wisdom-Base most likely to be of use to them. The query routing system operates by identifying key words or concepts in a question and then posing counter questions to identify the issue as accurately as possible. The user is then directed to a subject forum dealing with very specific issues from a number of perspectives.
